Photographs of two different places- an abandoned garden in Kifissia in 1981, and Greenwood cemetery in Brooklyn in 1995- meet years later to visually unfold a story.

Why did those photographs I had taken at the Brooklyn cemetery acquire presence and the brilliance of stone when they were printed on sandpaper?
I explore the same topic with different media, gradually seeking out ways in which my works would be transformed. Somehow I want to free the initial image from the conventionality of its medium, be that engraving or photography. I want a dialogue between photography, engraving, and the printing surface. Through this dialogue, photography is transformed into engraving and engraving into photography; an exchange of matter.
